Combustion of dichloromethane using copper-manganese oxides supported on zirconium modified titanium-aluminum catalysts

AbstractA series of copper-manganese oxides catalysts supported on zirconium modi fi ed titanium-alumina for dichloromethan e (DCM) catalytic combustion were prepared by impregnation method. The combustion experiments were investigated employin g a fi xed bed flow reactor , and the catalysts structures and properties were characterized by means of BET, TPR, XRD and XPS technologies. The results show that CuMn/Zr-Ti-Al catalyst is very active for DCM oxidation since a total conversion was reached at 470℃ without forma tion of other harmful organic compou nds. This performance was attributed to the highly dispersed CuMnOx. Adding of Zr also improved the reducibility of active phase.
