AbstractA new probe specific for singlet oxygen (1O2) was designed by incorporating the reactive anthracene moiety into a rhodamine fluorophore. The new probe displayed selective and sensitive response to 1O2, and it was further applied in a biological system to trace the endogenous 1O2 in Hela cells.
