Abstract | Using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as capping agent, snowlike platinum nanoparticles, for the first time, were synthesized by reducing H2PtCl6 with hydrogen. Pt nanoparticles were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-Vis absorption spectrum. With increasing or decreasing the quantity of H2PtCl6, the product’s structure changes from snowlike structures to triangular. The diffusion-limited aggregate model can be used to explain the growth of snowlike platinum nanoparticles. |
