Abstract

The thermal stability of the high- temperature spectrally selective solar absorber coating (SSSAC) is strongly dependent on the melting point and oxidation resistance of the metal filler atom. However, in this paper, the
practicability on Mo-MoO3-TiC coating prepared through natural oxidation of Mo-TiC coating is investigated. For the Mo-MoO3-TiC absorber layer, the Mo-MoO3 nanocrystalline is embedded into the amorphous TiC matrix. Thermal stability test demonstrates that the spectrally selectivity (α/ε) of the coating remain unchanged even
after annealed it at 600 °C for 200 h under vacuum. Furthermore, the details of the failure mechanism of the coating annealed at 700 °C vacuum is investigated, which provide theoretical support for the design of SSSAC with stable structure.
