AbstractCuO three-dimensional 3D flowerlike nanostructures were successfully synthesized on copper surface by a simple solution method. CuO nanostructure was systematically studied by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, x-ray powder diffraction, and x-ray photoelectron spectrum. The factors to control the morphology and size of the CuO nanostructures were explored, showing that the reaction time and the concentration of starting regents play important roles in the formation of the CuO 3D nanostructures.
