AbstractTiO2 and SiO2 nanoparticles were introduced into hybridpolytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)/Kevlar fabric/phenolic com-posites. The results showed the incorporation of TiO2 nanopar-ticles can reduce the wear rate of the fabric/phenolic com-posite at elevated temperatures, although the wear of hybridPTFE/Kevlar fabric/phenolic composite did not change muchwhen TiO2 or SiO2 nanoparticles were used as filler. The wearbehavior was explained in terms of morphology of transferfilms and worn surfaces. There was a good correlation betweenthe morphology of transfer film and wear results.
